OrthoAnimate is an educational platform owned and operated by OrthoAnimate LLC. It turns orthopaedic anatomy, biomechanics, and clinical concepts into focused interactive models.
Educational scope: OrthoAnimate supports self-directed learning and teaching. Its modules are not validated patient-specific planning tools, medical devices, or clinical decision-support systems.
Mission
Some orthopaedic concepts are difficult to understand from prose and static images alone. OrthoAnimate is built to let learners change relevant variables, observe relationships, compare patterns, and discuss why an outcome changes. Each module is intentionally focused rather than attempting to reproduce an entire clinical workflow.
Ownership and clinical authorship
OrthoAnimate LLC owns and operates the platform. Its founder currently serves as clinical editor and reviews every module before public release. Questions about authorship, collaboration, or the platform may be sent to contact@orthoanimate.com.
How modules are developed
- Define a narrow learning objective. The module begins with a concept that benefits materially from interaction or motion.
- Identify the evidence base. Relevant literature, accepted anatomic relationships, classifications, and teaching sources are reviewed.
- Make assumptions explicit. Simplifications, coordinate conventions, thresholds, and limits are stated within the module rather than hidden.
- Build and clinically review the model. Behaviour, terminology, labels, feedback, and educational claims are checked before release.
- Observe and revise. Reports from learners and educators, technical testing, and material new evidence inform updates.
Evidence standards
Each module links to the literature and source material that supports its educational model. Citations are selected for relevance to the claims, definitions, relationships, or data represented in that module. References are not presented as a systematic review unless explicitly identified as one.
Where evidence is incomplete, debated, implant-specific, technique-dependent, or simplified for teaching, the module should say so. Conceptual graphics and simulated outputs are explanations of a model—not measurements from an individual patient.
Review and update governance
Modules are reviewed when material clinical content or model behaviour changes and when credible reports identify a possible error. Priority is given to issues that could produce a clinically misleading interpretation, followed by functional defects, accessibility barriers, and clarity improvements. Material corrections are documented in the project changelog or the affected module.
Accessibility
OrthoAnimate is working toward alignment with WCAG 2.2 Level AA across shared pages and modules. The platform does not yet claim full WCAG conformance. Keyboard access, focus visibility, reduced-motion preferences, semantic structure, colour contrast, responsive layouts, and non-visual alternatives are considered during development. Accessibility barriers can be reported through the feedback form.
Independence and future partnerships
Editorial conclusions are controlled by OrthoAnimate, not by sponsors, vendors, or prospective partners. Future contributions, sponsorships, research collaborations, society partnerships, or commercial arrangements may be considered case by case. Any relationship relevant to a module will be disclosed, and no sponsor may suppress corrections or dictate clinical conclusions.
No fixed commercialization model has been adopted. The current priority is a credible educational resource. Partnership enquiries are welcome when they support educational quality, access, validation, or responsible development.
